The Book of Ruth | There IS A Redeemer
We all love a good story. The book of Ruth stands out as one of the greatest stories of all time.
Ruth was a Moabite who married into a Jewish family. She was an outsider; hers is a story of desperation and marginalization. As we watch her find a place among the people of God we learn to see the threads of divine providence that bring her, not only into the covenant community, but into God’s plan for the salvation of the nations.
Ruth’s story teaches us that God loves to save outsiders. Not only does God delight to save outsiders and make them insiders, he also loves to make use of unlikely instruments to accomplish his plans. From the union of Ruth and Boaz will descend great King David, and from David will descend great David’s greater Son, Jesus Christ.
Our series in the Book of Ruth is will begin Sunday morning, November 10.
